    Decks: use existing cards together

A deck references existing clues or items. It does not create another independent copy of the source material.

    1. Create the clue or item cards first.
    2. Open Decks and create a deck. Open Edit to name it and check its type.
    3. Choose Add, open the source folder and add the intended cards. Close the picker to review the deck.
    4. Drag a card’s handle or use its move controls to set the display order. Insert the deck in an editor that supports deck references.
Opening evidence deck contains a reference to Unsigned letter. The source clue remains in the Clues area.

    Check references and ordering

    • A clue can appear once within a clue deck; item cards support repeated additions. Follow the active type and picker restrictions.
    • Removing a card from the deck removes that reference. Editing the original material changes the source, so recheck places that use it.
    • If the source is missing, repair the reference before testing. Deck order is separate from the timing of GM delivery.
    • Changing deck type can remove the selected cards. Review the confirmation before continuing.

Quick delivery: create a named step

    1. Select Quick delivery. Use Create first step for the first entry, or New for another step.
    2. Open Step settings and name the step for the moment it occurs, such as Opening reading. Add a GM cue in its description.
    3. Leave the changed field to save. Every step lists the game’s characters; a character with no assignment receives nothing at that step.

    Choose content for a character

    1. In the selected step, choose Choose content beside the intended character.
    2. Use the Chapters, Clues, Items or Media tab to find the material. Check the character path, current assignments, quantities and any access options shown.
    3. Confirm the selection, then check the character’s summary or View details. Repeat for each intended recipient.

Quick setup: each character’s Nth chapter

This preset uses each character’s own chapter order. A character without that chapter is skipped; an identical chapter already in this step is not added again.

    1. Open Quick setup and choose the chapter number.
    2. Review Ready, Already in this step and missing-chapter results for each character.
    3. Select Apply to this step, then check the returned result and character list. Previewing the rule alone does not save it.
The tutorial preset was applied: Chapter 1 is assigned to Character 1 in Opening reading. This is saved configuration, not a delivery in a live game.

Match configuration to the GM’s actions

    1. For every step, write its trigger, recipient, material and next player action in the GM guide.
    2. In a permitted playtest, verify the GM’s delivery action and what each player can actually see.
    3. If someone receives nothing, check the selected version, step, character and assignment before changing the writing.
