Built close to the table
We started by hosting stories ourselves.
Before building Anzir, we ran Jubensha experiences in Sydney for Chinese- and English-speaking players. The work behind those sessions still shapes what we build.
What running sessions taught us
- The story has to fit the group.
- Language, available time and hosting preparation matter as much as the theme.
- Preparation continues at the table.
- Knowing when to share a clue matters. So does noticing who needs time or a little encouragement.

Keep the platform’s story usage fee separate from what you charge your players and what it takes to run your venue.
- Story usage
- Anzir charges story usage fees per session. The amount depends on the work, version and applicable access or offers. Review the estimate in the App and confirm the actual fee before starting.
- Your event price
- You arrange the admission price for your players. Consider your host’s time, space, equipment and other operating costs alongside the story usage fee.
- Balance & payment
- Check the paying account before proceeding. Venue and personal coin balances are separate; use the current payment screen to confirm the account and any applicable ticket.
A few things worth knowing
Before you get started.
More practical help is available in the Help Center.
Explore the venue guidesDo I need to run a Jubensha venue already?
No. An existing Jubensha venue, escape room, board-game venue or café can assess a suitable work. The first step is matching the story to your audience, host and space. There is no need to plan a large event before understanding what it requires.
Can I see how it works before signing up?
Yes. The walkthrough, public story introductions and Help Center are available without an account. Full preparation materials and hosting access follow the conditions of the selected work and venue.
When do I pay for a session?
Story usage is charged per session. In the regular hosting flow, creating a room does not deduct its start fee. Review the App’s current estimate, paying account and available balance or tickets, then confirm actual charges before formally starting. Preparation, previews and special playtests can have their own conditions.
What does Anzir provide, and what do I prepare?
Depending on the work and your access, Anzir provides digital story materials, GM materials and session tools. You arrange the host, players, suitable space and any devices, costumes, props or NPCs the work requires.
Can a Game Master join without owning a venue?
Yes. A Game Master can prepare and work with a venue without owning it. Hosting a venue session requires the relevant venue association, hosting permissions and access to the selected story.
What happens after I apply for a venue?
The application opens in the Anzir account space. Sign in and submit your venue details, then follow the status and next steps shown in Business. Once the required review and permissions are ready, complete your venue profile and plan a suitable first session. There is no single guaranteed review time.
Does joining include players or a ready-made event?
You arrange your own players and event. A venue profile helps people find your information and contact you, while the App supports preparation and hosting. Plan how to reach your audience alongside choosing a story; joining does not guarantee attendance or income.
